Through the years of his musical experience, Areza played in various jazz events such as Bali Jazz Festival 2005, Jakarta Java Jazz International Festival 2007, Pasar Jazz at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta 2007 and various jazz gigs in Singapore, Manchester and London.

His first drum teacher was Samboedi, later on he studied drums from many great drummers such as Aksan Sjuman, Brian Abrahams and Trevor Tomkins (at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London 2010).
