Serambi Jazz features local Jazz

Serambi Jazz is a platform for high quality contemporary jazz from Germany and Indonesia. Its versatile program provides every two month new intercultural experiences.
The 2nd edition of this years series of 'Serambi Jazz' concerts at the Goethe Institute features two bands from indonesian soil:
'Zarro & His Kaili-Bossanova Project' and 'Indro Hardjodikoro Trio'.

In the local jazz scene the name Zarro is wellknown for quite a while as vocalist, guitarist and composer. The former singer of 'Chlorophyl' has released several albums since 2000. After he separated from 'Chlorophyl', he decided to focus on his solo career. Recently he explores brazilian music. A unique part of Zarro's music is that he uses his native language 'Kaili' from Palu, central-Sulawesi for his compositions, released on two albums “Ananta” and “Sentuhan Nada”.

Indro Hardjodikoro is a trademark for electric bass in Indonesia for years, featured in various notable formations. He recently released his debut album “Indro Hardjodikoro Feels free”, which was presented for the first time on this years Java Jazz Festival. Serambi Jazz is one of the few occasion where Indro performs his own music with the young talented drummer Demas Narawangsa and Lal Intje Makkah on keyboards.
