Klab Jazz is getting busy again this weekend. And that means we’ll have lots of quality jazz to choose. It’s really great to see jazz starts to bloom again in cafes and restaurants around Bandung, just like how it was back in 2005. If you need jazz to fill up your relaxing weekend in Bandung, now you can have not only one but two events, both appear at the really cozy cafes with delicious foods.
First of all, let’s see Frenzy Jazz Night at Neo Calista. This is the second Frenzy Jazz Night following the success of the first one held two weeks ago. The first Frenzy Jazz Night was made special. Not only by the great performance by 3 groups, Vassagie, G/E/T and Iman Brata Trio, but the menu was set in accordance with jazz as well. The cafe was fully crowded with jazz lovers that kept staying until the cool jam session as the last segment. You can check our report of the first edition here.
This Friday (June 4. 2010) Klab Jazz in cooperation with Neo Calista present Frenzy Jazz Night, the 2nd edition. The lineup looks tempting, featuring the great female pianist who also has her own jazz school for kids, Michelle Efferin & Friends, Iman Rahman & Friends, the group that based themselves on bebop with stunning improvisations Sonny Akbar Quartet with Aldhiella and Soundlicious.
Now let’s move on to the special event that has entertained us with jazz for two months in a row at the cozy cafe with interesting concept, Potluck Coffee Bar & Library named Sunday Jazz. After successful two live concerts, now comes the third one with a surprise. The great saxophonist, pianist and composer also the leader of the Sarimanouk Quartet, the Madagascar born F.A Talafaral will join the wonder kid David Manuhutu that just celebrated his 18th birthday with his trio. Two other groups will perform as well, Grace Sahertian and Friends with the concept of tributing Pat Metheny and Anna Maria Jopek, and last but not least Iman Rahman & Friends continuing their performance from Frenzy Jazz Night two days earlier.
