In June 2010, the program Serambi Jazz will present once more two talented young Indonesian jazz musicians of the next generation who dedicated their lives to their music of choice.
Nikita Dompas is a young guitarist with an excellent style. He made proof of this in his former groups like Tommorow People Ensemble and Indra Lesmana Reborn. At the moment, he is adding reputation to his name as a band leader. It is a pleasure to have Nikita together with his group Nikita Dompas & His Fellow Musicians playing at Serambi Jazz.
Indrawan Tjhin has graduated from acoustic bass at the Koninklijk Conservatorium (Royal Conservatory) of The Hague and has a high integrity for his beloved straight ahead jazz. Since his return to Indonesia, Indrawan has played with senior musicians and musicians of his own generation. At Serambi Jazz, he will present original compositions and rearranged standards together with his group.
This month, Serambi Jazz will take place along with the exhibition Deutscher Jazz / German Jazz, which shows the history of this music genre and its current situation in Germany. It furthermore tells about clubs and festivals, about record labels and the role of the radio and introduces personnalities and styles of the German jazz scene. Information is displayed on big panels and visitors may listen to music samples.
