Makassar will host Jazz @ Fort Rotterdam 2010 in the city this weekend. The 2nd edition of this annual international jazz festival with the main theme “When Jazz Meets Ethnic” takes place
at the historic Fort Rotterdam Located in the heart of Makassar, in the front of Losari Beach with its beautiful sunset
On 9 stages, 5 outdoor stages (3 inside and 2 outside Fort Rotterdam) and 4 indoor stages (Balairate Pantai Gapura Hotel, Zona Cafe, Auditorium RRI & Societet de harmonie) approximately 400 performers (including 50 from overseas) perform in more than 50 performances.
Dozens of Indonesian jazz musicians, including prominent Krakatau Band, Barry Likumahuwa Project featuring Benny Likumahuwa and Balawan & His Fellow Musicians with guest star Andien, Special Project Pakarena N Jazz, a Collaboration of traditional music of South Sulawesi and contemporary jazz and more promise to make this 2-days event a big succes.
A food bazaar takes care of the physical needs and those who are interested can visit an exhibition.
The event will start at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday with ticket prices ranging from Rp 100,000 (US$11) per person per day to Rp 180,000 per person per two-day.
