Al Jarreau left a French hospital on Sunday after a week of treatment for breathing and heart problems that struck as he prepared to go on stage, his doctor said. "We have talked through his treatment and given him advice to adapt his lifestyle," Jean-Louis Bonnet, a doctor in the cardiology department of the hospital in the southern city of Marseille, told AFP.
"We found the cause of the passing problem which was partly linked to fatigue," Bonnet said, adding that treatment had stabilised an irregular heart beat.
Jarreau's official website said he would resume his tour on Tuesday with a concert in Hanau, Germany, followed by further dates in the United States and Japan.
Jarreau -- whose jazz, pop and soul songs have won him seven Grammy awards -- was about to begin a festival concert on July 22 at Barcelonette in the French Alps when he was taken ill with an unduly rapid heart beat.
The 70-year-old was in a critical condition when he was transported by helicopter to an intensive care unit in nearby Gap but his condition stabilised and he was transferred to a larger hospital in Marseille.
