The international festival for short movies, 'Internationale Kurzfilmtage', Oberhausen shows since 1998 ein special program for music videos. It is the first film festival, that classifies music videos as a an independent art form.
The exhibition of German-Indonesian Experimental Music Videos combines for the first time German and Indonesian music videos emanating from the Oberhausen concept. The exhibition shows 31 experimental music videos under the program Zur Rettung Der Popkultur: Experimentelle Deutsche Musikvideos 1998-2003 and 2003-2007. In addition the exhibition presents 17 selected music videos from Indonesia. A discussion with an Indonesian video artist and the curator will precede the opening.
