Jazz will be presented in various formats. Iwan Hasan – that is known to be a composer, guitarist and vocalist of a progresif Band Discus to even becoming the arranger of pop and rock music – this time represent a repertoire which mostly became the jazz standard which is packaged in arrangement to format guitar-vocale-piano-tuba.
To project Chamber Jazz, Iwan collaborated with 3 musician that suits the concept. Andie, the famous young jazz singer, who has collaborated with Iwan since six years back at the Discus concert to Andien’s own concert, and Discus’s Festival Zappanale in Jerman in the year 2009. Mery Kasiman (piano), a jazz pianist who is known as the teacher of Institut Musik Daya, us the jazz pianist known with a background in jazz in classic. Enggar Widodo (tuba), one of the establisher and member of Pitoelas Big Band, which also is the only tuba player in Jakarta that can play the instrument in function as a jazz bassist, which is preformed by instrument guitar or contrabass.
In the concept Chamber Jazz it also has the improvisation element, which became the characteristic of jazz. Although the arrangement carries a sensibility of seriosa music. The trait of the music which is involved gives a strong feel to the music ensemble.
